Bringing multiple brands into
one cohesive catalog
We helped Bailey International to consolidate three brand catalogs into one unified edition for print and digital, rebuilding the structure around how buyers search, designing navigation that works on paper and on screen, and driving 33.8k online views.
Catalog walkthrough
The Client
Bailey International is a North American manufacturer of hydraulic components and electronic controls, serving OEMs, dealers and distributors through a family of brands.
For those buyers, the catalog is not a brochure. It is how they find the right cylinder, valve or control for the machine in front of them, so it has to be organized around how they search.

The Challenge
Bailey, Sure Grip and Hydrolico each had a catalog of their own. Different layouts, different naming, different ways of grouping similar products. Bailey wanted one catalog, under one brand. This new version had to flex around each brand without reading like three books stapled together.
The digital catalog, by the numbers
Since launch in [month year], buyers have used the digital catalog like a tool, not a brochure.
How we **built it**
It started with the industry brochures
Before the catalog, we designed a set of industry brochures for Bailey. Each one mapped Bailey products to the industries and machines they serve. Bailey liked how fast they made it to find the right part. The question became: could the catalog work the same way?

Inventory before layout
We went through every page of the three old catalogs and built a full inventory of Bailey’s product categories. That list became the backbone of a new structure. We proposed it, Bailey approved it, and only then did design begin.
A design that guides the reader
We designed three product formats, a two-page spread, a single page and a half page, so every product line gets the space it needs. Hydraulic cylinders and motors were the test cases. Both edges of every spread carry a running table of contents of product categories, with the current one highlighted. In print, you always know where you are. Online, every tab is a link that jumps straight to that section.

The template system
We built templates and recorded video tutorials so Bailey’s team could add pages themselves. But as the catalog grew, we took over production completely. From then on, Bailey only had to review and approve, since we handled everything else.
Pages that do more than list parts
A catalog is also a sales tool. We added pages that send readers to Bailey’s online calculators, its website and its custom-build service. We also redesigned the company and legal pages carried over from the old catalogs, so every page speaks the same visual language.

The Result
The first print run of the Bailey catalog came out in [month year]. Bailey handed it to customers face to face at [event name].
Online, the digital catalog lives on baileyintl.com, a site we also designed and built. Since July, its monthly views have nearly tripled, and its calls to action have drawn 153 clicks to Bailey’s calculators, website and custom-build service.

Their templatized approach to design was a game changer for us, and ensured that all source files were easy to update internally. The how-to guides they create for new software integrations are absolute lifesavers. Beyond their technical expertise, Enova's open communication, fast response times, and attentiveness set them apart from any agency we've worked with in the past.
